Turkey Race raises €760

Posted by Mark Redmond on 21 December 2011

Hello All Despite the challenging water conditions and the cold weather a large number of brave souls ventured out onto the Liffey last Sunday to take part in the annual Celbridge Paddlers Turkey Race (Tempelmills to Salmon Leap) in aid of St Vincent de Paul. All the race entry fees and the proceeds of the raffle afterwards( in the McNamees pub) were donated to the charity. We raises €760 in total which was great and hopefully this will provide some less fortunate people with a bit of Christmas cheer - so very well done to one and all. Special word of thanks to the "Fossils" in Celbridge Paddlers for providing the essential rescue cover on the day. Happy Christmas to one and all , Eamon Fleming
