City of the Tribes Kayak race acknowledgements

Thanks to all paddlers who made the journey to the 11th Annual City of the Tribes Race. Hope you enjoyed the ideal racing conditions on Corribside. Great to see new faces as well, young and old, many who were doing their first ever kayak race. Wonderful.

For the first time in over 5 years the long course was run over the original circuit course taking in a leg along the reedy shore line of Lough Corrib

We wish to thank main sponsers Kayakmór & River Deep Mountain for their continued support, and the excellent assistance in running the race from Louise Henry, Annie Creaven, John Staunton, Paul GKC & Val Pierce for driving the crashboat once again!

Congratulations also to Stephen Bagnal and Tagdh De Barra for their recent successful Irish sea Crossing. After weeks of waiting for weather window they left Holyhead before dawn on sunday 13th Sept and completed the 55 mile + crossing to Bullock Harbour some 14 hours 50 minutes later. Good on them. Hope they write an account soon.
