Fun Race

Hello, As you may have seen on the race notice for the SLCC Ranking Race, a 'fun race' will be held before the main event (this Sunday 23rd May. Some points to note about this race are: • This race is for boys and girls aged 13 or under. • The course will be 2 laps of a 1km course on Leixlip Lake, starting and finishing at Salmon Leap Canoe Club. • The race will start at 11am on Sunday 23rd (an hour before the ranking race) • The Great Outdoors have kindly sponsored a ‘goodie bag’ for all competitors. • This is an introduction to racing with an emphasis on fun rather that serious competition. • There will be no special prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd places. Instead, each competitor will get a raffle ticket for a Great Outdoors voucher. The raffle will be held after the race. • There will also be a voucher for the paddler with the best fancy dress outfit.

Please do what you can to encourage young people to come along and take part.
